Gay soccer, taking our time in the mystery, and flying words
Published about 2 months ago • 1 min read
HiReader,
It's been a hot minute since I've written a newsletter to you! Cheers to the moments of pause. To a long breath out. To the waking up without looking at our phones for a few minutes/hours.
I hope you're getting the hydration, oxygen, and touch that you desire these days. And as Emily Nagoski likes to say, "urgency is the enemy of pleasure". What helps you slow down when everything is moving so fast?
Do you enjoy watching gay soccer? Checking out local queer healing practitioners? This Sunday, August 11st from 10am-1:30pm I'll be tabling at the Lavender League's Queer Wellness Fair. If you're in Portland, stop by and say hi! I'll have some free tools, an interactive game, and fresh stickers. I'm so curious to see who gets drawn to the giant "Erotic Belonging" banner!
Other wonderful organizations and healers will be there, including folx from Hey Doc Clinic, Bhakti Yoga, Zocalo Wellness, Rooted Spirit Somatics, the Trans Wardrobe Project, and more!
Sometimes it takes a grueling amount of time to write about what you love, who you are, and why you do it. I've been in the grind, tossing words and images around like paper airplanes, seeing which ones fly.
